• How long does a course last?
• At Direct English, the length of the course is not fixed because you study at a pace that suits you. Your course fee covers your study of a level of material, not a fixed length of time.

• How does the course work?
• At Direct English we offer a unique combination of autonomous study and personal tutorials. Learners complete a unit of material in their own time at a broadly agreed pace and then attend a one-to-one tutorial at a Direct English Centre. These sessions revise the material studied, deal with any queries and discuss the next unit of material. These sessions are tailor-made to the needs of the individual learner. Learners can also attend a large number of conversation classes at the Centre where they can discuss topical issues with other Direct English clients. These sessions are led by native speakers and are graded according to ability levels. There is also an active social programme that includes meals out, presentations by local business people, video and games nights, seminars, networking groups and other events.

• Can I get one-to-one teaching?
• All the tutorials on a 'classic' Direct English course are offered on a one-to-one basis. If clients also want to have one-to-one conversation classes they can purchase our Individual course. Typically on this course, a client can 'customize' these sessions to help them prepare for a particular task such as a business presentation or to discuss some specific topics that are relevant to their individual business needs.
